The Institute of Physics Energy Group hosts a one day meeting entitled ‘Heat pumps: towards better integration’. Heat pumps work well inside their boxes but integrating them into their real life context has consistently proven to be more of a challenge. In this meeting we will hear from experts from industry and academia trialling integration of heat pumps into new and existing buildings, into households and into local and national electricity grids. The information to be presented is at the forefront of current research and installation technology and practice and spans thermodynamics, electricity systems, social science and building physics.
