Sêr Solar is a Welsh Government funded initiative focused on the development of low cost, large
area photovoltaic technologies. It is based within the SPECIFIC IKC at the University of Swansea.
This symposium will include talks from the Sêr Solar team and invited talks from some of our
external partners on progress from new solar cell materials through to building integrated
photovoltaic applications.
Last year, India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that he was determined to leap-frog
fossil fuels and harness global solar expertise to turn his nation green.
SUNRISE is a UK-led project with India in printed photovoltaics (PV) created to help deliver this
challenge. Combining the best of British and Indian solar expertise from leading institutions in
both countries.
SUNRISE aims to develop printed PV cells and innovative manufacturing processes for
application and demonstration in rural communities in India.
