Opportunities for Solar in the Developing World

A new workshop has been announced that will provide an opportunity to bring together those working in solar applications across the developing world (in both grid and off-grid contexts) with the UK research and innovation community working on the latest developments in solar PV materials and production techniques.

For the international development community, the workshop will provide an  opportunity to hear about the latest developments before they reach the market place and to develop partnerships with those developing technologies for international markets.  Examples include increased power output and easier maintenance using anti-soiling coatings on modules.  Lightweight, flexible solar suitable for rapid deployment in off grid areas and for disaster relief and new solar/energy storage solutions.

For technical researchers and the solar industrial sector, the works hop will provide an opportunity to hear about the latest experience of deployment of solar in overseas markets, as well as details of a range of different funding and collaboration possibilities.
