The eighth annual SuperSolar Research Methods for Solar PV Training Workshop took place over 13th and 14th April 2021. This year saw the workshop move into new territory as the webinar format made it available to Early Career Researchers everywhere, not just in the UK.

A programme featuring research leaders from the UK, Australia, USA and the Saudi Arabia presented in-depth overviews of key knowledge essential for postgraduates, postdocs and industrial researchers with an interest in PV devices in areas such as Silicon, Perovskites, Organics and Tandems, as well as for the first time for the workshop, coverage of PV systems, with sessions on PV Modelling, Characterisation, and PV for off-grid systems.

The workshop was chaired by Dr. Tasmiat Rahman, of the University of Southampton and attracted over 160 individual attendees over the two days, from as far-flung places of Lebanon, Kenya, Vietnam and Bangladesh. SuperSolar is proud to help connect UK researchers with colleagues worldwide and the webinar format proved to be so successful in extending the reach of the event that it will be retained in future years.
